The Can Do Challenge – Men’s Health Week June 2021

The Can Do Challenge week is here. Though you may have had health issues throughout the year and ignored them due to COVID-19; with restrictions loosening up, it’s time to focus on your well-being.

The Can Do Challenge

Of course, over the last year or so; you have faced uncertainties. Although the pandemic isn’t over, the vaccine has helped ease some concerns. To read more about the pandemic; be sure to visit my Are you Wondering What Day is it – COVID 19 Pandemic post.

At the same time, The Can Do Challenge focuses on five days of the week and five ways to your well-being. In the first place, it is important to focus on your mental health. In the same way, the five ways to focus on your mental health are the following:

  1. Be Active – Move your body – don’t be a couch potato!
  2. Connect with people in your workplace, friends, and network.
  3. Discover something new!
  4. Notice – Take note of things around you. Be aware!
  5. Offer to assist someone or volunteer your time.

The Can Do Challenge – Be Active

When it comes to being active, the following are things you should do regularly. Even if you don’t belong to a gym, you can still exercise regularly. For instance, you can take a bicycle ride. Or, you can go swimming. In addition, you can do yardwork, garden or take long walks on the beach, a trail or take a walk in your neighborhood.

Are you ready to go on a bike ride?  Be sure to check out my Summer Breezy Bicycle Ride post for some tips and get ready to hop on a bike.

And, if you have a garden, this is a great way to stay active by planting, shoveling and cutting the grass. However, if you are new to gardening; be sure to visit my Gifts from the Garden Month post that will have you ready to plant some vegetables.

Finally, if you don’t live near the beach or have access to a swimming pool nearby, join the YMCA.

Connect

Indeed, having people to talk to regularly is essential to your mental health. Moreover, everyone needs people they can talk to. Whether you live in an apartment complex or own a home; talk to your neighbors. Strike up a conversation and learn something new about someone. At work, ask a colleague to join you for lunch or drinks after work.
