Patriots Beat Steelers AFC Championship

Patriots Beat Steelers AFC Championship

Patriots beat Steelers yesterday to advance to the Super Bowl. Although yesterday’s game started with fireworks, that wasn’t the case in the game. Also, the fans saw Jon Bon Jovi dancing in Owner, Robert Kraft’s suite to “Livin on a Prayer”. Before the game, I was a little nervous due to the Steelers locker room chatter on social media all week. In addition, I read and watched a lot of the Sports Analysts predictions. I was surprised to see a lot of the Analyst’s had chosen the Steelers to win.

Patriots Beat Steelers

The Patriots beat Steelers in a masterful team performance. Although the Patriots won the coin toss, they opted to begin the game. Moreover, they usually defer the ball when winning the coin toss. Tom Brady played strong with a postseason career high of 384 yards and three touchdowns without an interception. His performance tied Joe Montana for most in the NFL history. Brady did a great job making key plays.

It is important to realize, Ben Roethlisberger had a tremendous game for the Pittsburgh Steelers. His completion of 31 of 47 passes for 314 yards was equally impressive. After the game, Ben said the team needed to play a flawless game to beat the Patriots. Additionally, he had high praise for Tom Brady as “one of the best to ever play the game”.

Patriots Record Achievements

During the post-game coverage, Bill Belichick had high praise for the way the team played. Furthermore, I thought something he said greatly resonated with me – “The defense kept the Steelers to 9 points during 50 minutes of game play”.

With yesterday’s win, the Patriots will advance to a NFL record of 9 Super Bowl appearances. Robert Kraft is the first owner of the NFL to lead his team to 8 Super Bowls.

Additionally, the Patriots played a NFL record of 6 Conference Championship Games. After yesterday’s win, the Patriots improve to a 20-4 in home playoff games.

Conclusion

On the positive side, the Patriots are the second team in history to win four Super Bowls under the same owner. Pittsburgh Steelers were the other team to do this back in the 70’s.

Certainly, the combination of Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft is a formula that has been leading the team to success.

In conclusion, as Belichick would say, we’re on to Houston to play the Atlanta Falcons in the Super Bowl. On February 5, 2017, the Falcons and Patriots will play in the 2017 Super Bowl 51th. Both teams have good offenses so the Super Bowl should be a good match-up to see.
