Celebrate Friendsgiving November

So, if you’re wondering what Friendsgiving is; today’s post will let you know all about this. Since everyone knows about Thanksgiving, this tradition started gaining traction around 2008.

What is Friendsgiving?

So, you’re not familiar with this gathering. Although the word isn’t new; many individuals never heard of this. First and foremost, this word comes from a celebration of friendship. Indeed, there is also a holiday to celebrate friendships. Visit my National Friendship Day post to read more about this day.

If you live away from your family; this is a good way to share a meal with friends. Usually Friendsgiving Day is usually celebrated a day before Thanksgiving or a day after the holiday. But, some people may celebrate this gathering on the actual holiday.

Because this is a fun event, there are no formalities. In the meantime, just gather a group of your friends and host a Friendsgiving day.

Celebrate Friendsgiving

While most people spend Thanksgiving with their families, many college students and Millennials don’t go home to spend the holiday with their family.

Are you ready to celebrate this holiday? In the same fashion, many friends and acquaintances opt for a much more casual get together. As a result, many opt for a potluck dinner. In any case, each person brings an appetizer or beverage. Usually, the main course is provided by the Host.

Consequently, this holiday is usually celebrated the week of Thanksgiving. However, many share this event with their friends as well as go home for Thanksgiving to celebrate the holiday with their family.

Friendsgiving Appetizers and Side Dishes

If you’re going to someone’s home for this event; the following are some great side dishes you can bring. So, are you ready to up your culinary skills and give everyone something to talk about. Of course, every dinner deserves a stuffing. Why not try a new recipe for stuffing? First, you can grill bread, add spices, greens, sage, and cranberries for a different twist on a traditional stuffing recipe.

Or, you can make a casserole. Indeed, there are many different recipes. Why not try making cheesy potato puffs or a mash potato casserole? In addition, you can always make figs stuffed with goat cheese and wrapped with bacon. Another great idea for your gathering is to make a roasted squash. You can add goat cheese or marshmallow to your squash recipe.

In my opinion, it is always nice to deviate from a traditional recipe.

As always, I welcome your comments.
