Since the team started 0 – 2, the hot Boston Celtics team is for real. After their first two losses of the season; the Celtics went on to win 16 straight.
Boston Celtics Winning Streaks
Although their winning streak came to an end; this streak tied for the fourth longest in the teams history.
The three teams that had better starts to the season were the 2008 team. After winning their first title in 22 years, they started the season winning 19 games in a row. Regrettably, Kevin Garnett’s ended the team’s chance of a repeat championship.
Of course, we cannot forgot about the 1982 Boston Celtics team. After winning back-to-back championships, they won 18 games in a row. Also in 1959, the Celtics won 17 games straight. No one can forget the success of the 1959 team that had seven double-digit scorers. This team went on to win their second title. Furthermore, that began the Celtic’s dynasty.
In addition to this year’s team, the 1964-65 team also won 16 straight.
Hot Boston Celtics Team
After winning 16 straight, the Celtics lost to the Miami Heat to end their streak. Indeed, their winning streak has everyone paying attention. When the team lost Gordon Hayward in the first game; many didn’t think this team would be as good.
However this team has surprised their critics. With Kyrie Irving and a lot of younger players stepping in, this team has the best record in the NBA. Although the Celtics lost to the Heat and the Pistons in the last week, they are committed as a team to playing better. Since there are a lot of players on the team that haven’t played together before; surprisingly the team is coming together as a unit.
Are the Celtics for Real?
In my opinion, this team has a lot of momentum. Even after their two most recent losses, they are committed to playing better. In the same way, Brad Stevens feels his team isn’t as good as their record indicates. Although the team is winning, Stevens feels the team needs to play better offensively.
Although the results have been favorable thus far, the Celtics are coming from behind in big deficits to win. The hot Boston Celtics team defense is keeping them in the game. No doubt, their offense is leaning heavily on the defense.
Now, that the team is 25% into their season, their offensive unit has to play better. Also, they need to figure out a way to stop other teams from jumping ahead early. As the season continues, I hope they continue to grow as a team. In conclusion, I would like to see less turnovers a game.
