Freelance Writer Appreciation Week is here. Since I’m a freelance blogger and writer; I wanted to share some of my experience with you.
Freelance Writer Appreciation Week
So, you may think you want to be a writer. But, trust me, when I tell you it is hard work. Although writing styles are different for most people; it is sometimes hard to strike that chord to create content that resonates with a lot of people.
Since English was always one of my favorite subjects in school; it is no surprise I transitioned several years ago to being a full-time freelance writer and blogger.
For 24+ years I owned a successful Wholesale Women’s Contemporary Apparel Sales Office. Because fashion has been a part of my life since I was a little girl; it took a lot of thought for me to make this transition. To read more about my transition; be sure to check out Lynne’s Fashion Journey post.
2017 and Beyond
In 2017, I started to get more comfortable with WordPress. So, I decided to change things around and expand my Site to include beauty and lifestyle topics. At the same time, I also began working with a few clients and helped each of them grow their business.
Fast forward – today, I’m still working with many of the same clients.
As I have continued to expand my writing; I published my first book in 2018. Because I love cooking and entertaining, I thought I would write a fun Fall/Holiday cookbook for anyone who loves good food.

Freelance Writer Appreciation Week – Where I am Today
Although I have had success with both books and other writing gigs; I am not getting rich. So, you may ask yourself why do I continue to pursue this line of work if it isn’t bringing me the money I was hoping for? Well, the answer is simple; I love what I do.
At the same time, I love creating stories that I hope will interest the people reading them.
In addition to my own Website: I have enjoyed working with most of my clients to help them achieve their goals.
Ways for you to Celebrate Freelance Writer Appreciation Week
So, if you work with a freelance writer or blogger; there are a few things you can do this week to let the person know you appreciate them.
- Of course, the best way to show your appreciation is to give them some additional work.
- Because most writers work from their homes; most of them would appreciate a referral.
- Give a shout out to your freelance writer on social media.
- Finally, if you love the work they do for you; write a testimonial or a review of something they have written.
In conclusion, take this week to let your freelance writer and blogger know you appreciate their contribution to your business.
