2024 NFL Season Kicks Off

So, the 2024 NFL season kicks off tonight. Since last year, the Kansas City Chiefs won the Superbowl; they will play the Baltimore Ravens in a rematch of last year’s AFC Championship Game.

First and foremost, the team that won the Super Bowl plays the season’s first game. Though you may not know this; this is usually how it happens. In 2019, things went differently when the Patriots opened their season on Sunday night. Also, in 2013, the Denver Broncos didn’t play the Baltimore Ravens due to a scheduling conflict.

Because the Kansas City Chiefs have won the Super Bowl both in 2022 and 2023; will they repeat?

Indeed, every season each team is hoping to win the Super Bowl.

In addition, there are always new rules each season. Hence, the NFL has overhauled its kickoffs using some parts of the rules from the XFL. These new rules will be in play for this season and are subject to renewal for 2025.

At the same time, in the off-season; there were plenty of signings and trades.

With the football season upon us, there are already a few storylines. Moreover, Aaron Rodgers is returning from last season-ending injury, and Jim Harbaugh is returning to the NFL as a coach for the Los Angeles Chargers. Although this will be Harbaugh’s first year as the coach for the Chargers; there is already a lot of excitement in the air. Will Harbaugh lead the Chargers to the playoffs?

Meanwhile, sports are unpredictable. In fact, sometimes, some teams end up surprising people’s expectations.

Will an underdog swoop in?

The 2024 NFL Season has the following teams already predicted to be in the playoffs.

Although the above are expected to be in the playoffs; I am surprised to not see the Pittsburgh Steelers not on this list. In the off-season, the Steelers made many signings.

Additionally, the Kansas City Chiefs are expected to fall short this season.

2024 New England Patriots

In the off-season, there were a lot of changes. For instance, one of the biggest news stories this season was the New England Patriots parting ways with Bill Belichick and replacing him with Jerod Mayo as his successor. Since Belichick led the Patriots to 6 Super Bowls; what can fans expect this year and going forward?

With a new coach at the helm; there are low expectations for this year’s team.

On Sportsbook, they have the New England Patriots predicted to be the worst team. Furthermore, Sportsbook has the Patriots’ win total at 4.5.

So based on the early reports coming from both Sports Analysts and Sportsbook; Indeed, Patriot fans are in for a dismal season.

Since the Patriots won only 4 games last season; they brought back many of the same players. In addition, the team has replaced both Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe with Jacoby Brissett and Drake Mayes.

Of course, Mayo is hoping that his players take the low expectations from the media and sportsbook to use as motivation.

Although the team isn’t supposed to do well this season; I know my husband will be watching all the games. Will you?
