Lynne Black is the Alignable Peabody Business Person of the year for 2025. In March 2025, one of the largest online networks chooses a person from each city from their small business platform for a local business person of the year award within their community.

When I was notified that I was chosen as the winner for my city, I was surprised. There are many other small businesses and talented professionals who reside in my city; so, this is quite an honor.
Bombshell Whims has continued to receive support from other businesses and other self-employed professionals.
Alignable – Winners
At the beginning of the year, Alignable runs a contest to determine a person who has exceeded expectations in a city or town.
In addition, the person who wins the award in their city or town is chosen by the number of votes they receive. Because every year, this contest has become more competitive, it was quite an honor to win this award.

Recently, I started attending the networking meetings held monthly. Since I have been more active on the platform and at the networking events, I have had the opportunity to meet some amazing individuals and learn about their businesses.
Lynne Black – Bombshell Whims
Over the last decade, I have worked hard to grow my small business.
When I closed LRB & Associates, it took me several years to grow Bombshell Whims. Though there are many differences between both businesses, the one thing I have learned over the last decade is that I have to remain flexible to keep moving forward.
Challenges
So, like many other businesses, I have faced several challenges this year and have hit a few roadblocks.
First and foremost, I used the services of a Web Developer/Designer for several years. Unfortunately, his full-time work commitments interfered with his availability.
Due to having an issue with one of my plugins, I briefly used the services of a Web Developer I worked with many years ago. However, he is a full-time teacher, which limits his availability.
Since that time, I used the services of someone temporarily and another Developer I used to work with. Though the Developer I worked with off and on, I was familiar with his work, he ended up having a lot of personal issues and dropped the ball.
Additionally, I was hoping for a new Theme for my Site. Although he promised me countless times this would be done at the beginning of the year, he never followed through. After speaking to one of my trusted freelancers, it was recommended to me that I terminate this Developer. This trusted professional has stepped in and is presently helping me with my Site, while I speak to other Website Developers/Designers.
Because COVID impacted many of my clients in the last several years, I haven’t recovered some of the lost revenue. However. I have made some strides in the last year or so by becoming an Ad Affiliate to many high-profile retailers. which has earned me higher commissions.
Finally, social media continues to be a weakness for me. Check out my Like Love Hate Social Media Relationship post to learn more. In the past, I have hired several social media professionals to handle this for me. Unfortunately, I feel I wasted my money and time with individuals who weren’t able to deliver on their promise.
Goals
Indeed, my ultimate goal is to solve some of my issues and find solutions.
In addition, my goals are to continue to be active in participating in more networking events.
Also, I am hoping you visit my logo shops and find something you like, i.e., Spreadshirt Shop and my Threadless Artist Shop.
Of course, I hope you will read a book I published a few years ago that was completed in memory of my sister, Edie. In case you missed reading this story, I hope you will consider reading it.
Though this book is for young adults, I would appreciate you reading it regardless of your age, and I hope you find meaning in it.
