After an exciting playoff series, the Boston Bruins Stanley Cup loss to the St. Louis Blues was disappointing. Although the Blues were in the playoffs in 1968, 1969 and 1970; last night was their first win in the Stanley Cup finals.

Although the teams play sixty minutes; history in the NHL shows the team that scores the first goal usually wins. All in all, the game started with neither team scoring until the last few minutes of the period. Consequently, the Bruins had several chances to score in the first period; however they couldn’t get it past the Blues Goaltender, Jordan Binnington.
Nevertheless, though many predicted the Bruins to win the cup; they weren’t able to get it done. In a regular season game, the Bruins could shrug this loss off. But, the bottom line is the Bruins played from behind most of the series.

In my opinion, the Blues were the better team in this series. And, though the Bruins come from a 3 – 2 deficit to tie the series in Game 6; the Bruins offensive line didn’t produce well. Moreover, most of their goals were from power plays.
And, though the Bruins didn’t win the cup; they have a lot to be proud of this year. At the same time, this year’s team went a lot further than many expected.
Luckily, my husband sold his tickets and didn’t have to deal with the disappointment.
Stanley Cup Winners
Last year, the Washington Capital surprised many and won their first Stanley Cup. Comparatively, the St Louis Blues also have never won the cup. Both teams win came with a strong defense and excellent goaltending.
Finally, the Blues have made their dream come true.
