Celtics v Mavericks NBA Finals 2024 is here. Due to the Celtics having the best record and seed; they have the home-court advantage. So, are you ready for playoff basketball?

When the 2024 playoffs began; did you expect the Dallas Mavericks to be playing in the NBA Finals? At the end of the regular season, many predicted the finals would be between the Boston Celtics and the Denver Nuggets.
When I watched a few games earlier in the 2023-24 season that the Mavs played; I wasn’t impressed. However, in the Playoffs, the Mavericks came together at the right time.
2024 Boston Celtics Playoff Run
In Round 1, the Celtics won the series against the Miami Heat. The final score was 4 – 1.

When the Pacers defeated the Knicks, many sports analysts and fans thought the Celtics would play the Knicks in Round 3. Many thought this series may be tougher than the first 2 rounds. Now, the NBA finals are here.

Although it has been a few years since the Celtics made it to the finals; this year’s team appears to be on a mission.
2024 Dallas Mavericks Playoff Run
In 2011, the Mavericks won their first NBA title. Since then, the Mavericks haven’t been in the finals. In fact, their Head Coach, Jason Kidd was a player when they won the title in 2011.
In the playoffs, the Mavs have shown dominance in all 3 playoff rounds.
Though the Mavs finished 5th in the Western Conference; they have Kidd who hopes to win both as a player and a coach. Will he be the difference maker?

So, the 2024 NBA Finals schedule is as follows.
- Thursday, June 6th – Game 1 – Dallas will visit Boston – Game time is at 8:30 p.m.
- Sunday, June 9th – Game 2 – Dallas will be in Boston – Game time is at 8:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, June 12th – Game 3 – Boston will be Dallas – Game time is 8:30 p.m.
- Friday, June 14th – Game 4 – Boston will be in Dallas – Game time is 8:30 p.m.
- Monday, June 17th – If needed – Game 5 – Dallas will be in Boston – Game time is 8:30 p.m.
- Thursday, June 20th – If needed – Game 6 – Boston will be in Dallas – Game time is 8:30 p.m.
- Sunday, June 23rd – If needed – Game 7 – Dallas will be in Boston – Game time is at 8:00 p.m.
Who Will Win
In 2016, the Warriors were the last team that had the best record in the regular season and went on to win the NBA Title. Since most teams that have the best record don’t go on to win the Title; will the Celtics prove differently?
Since the Celtics didn’t go past 5 games in any of their Playoff series; they are the favorites to beat the Mavericks .
Because Kristaps Porzinviz has yet to make an appearance in the 2024 Playoffs; will his presence make a difference?
Meanwhile, Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving were dominating in their run against the Timberwolves. Will this continue in the NBA Finals?
Also, will Jayson Tatum play at his best? Many Sports Analysts, including Tatum, predict he will win the Finals MVP.
Though the Celtics’ last championship was in 2008; will they be raising their 18th banner?
