Street swagger is about striking a balance between casual and cool. When you’re out, look around. You will see a lot of different styles, yet the same type of clothing. Fashion has changed. It wasn’t too long ago that Men wore suits to work and Women wore suits or dresses.
Back in my youth, I dressed in fashionable clothes for school and work. Often, I would wear a cute dress, tights and shoes to both school and work. Going out to parties or nightclubs, I would wear sexy club clothes.
Today, students will dress in sweatpants, hoodies, T-shirts and ugg boots. I find in the workplace, fashion has become much more casual. At retail stores, I find it hard to differentiate the sales personnel as I often find they blend in looking like the customer. Today, many people dress alike. Many individuals don’t care about what they put on and to me, that says a lot about a person’s character.

You either have it or you don’t. Style and taste is personal. I always admire those who deviate from the norm. A lot of women wear men’s styles – Boyfriend jeans, borrowed shirts from our Husband, Boyfriend, Grandfather or Dad’s closet. Find your own individual style and what works for you and has you standing out from the crowd. Be creative and have fun with the process. Recently I was on a shopping mission for my Husband’s upcoming Birthday. A few Employee’s of Stores I was shopping in and individuals caught my eye. They had their own look and owned it.
We are seeing globally individuals dressing casually. Casual fashion varies in different parts of the world. Everyone’s style is different. Some street styles may be a jacket and scarf while others throw on a T-shirt and a pair of jeans. The love of sportswear and Activewear has trickled down to streetwear.

If you feel like a mess – chances are you look like a mess. If you’re organized, it shows in your appearance. Own your style. Even if you don’t have a lot of money, with stores such as H&M, Forever 21 and Designer collaborations showing up at Target and Kohl – it is easy to look stylish and trendy.
