National Nothing Day January 16th

National Nothing Day January 16th

National Nothing Day is observed today. So, if you never heard about his day; it is a day that was created for everyone to sit around, celebrate or do nothing at all.

National Nothing Day

First and foremost, this day was proposed in 1972 by columnist, Harold Pullman Coffman. Since 1973, this non-holiday is a day to do anything you want or nothing. Of course, the choice is yours.

Because today isn’t an official holiday, there are things you can do. Or, nothing at all. In my opinion, this is a silly non-holiday. Was this day created as a joke? First, celebrate this day by watching the movie or read the book, Much Ado About Nothing.

Or, you can stay home and do absolutely nothing at all. Another suggestion I have is if you live by the ocean or mountains, sit there and stare at the gorgeous scenery in front of you.

Of course, doing nothing is sometimes good, as we all need time to unwind.

Celebrate National Nothing Day

Although, you may choose to do nothing at all today; you may want to celebrate another holiday.

Consequently, the third Monday in January is often Martin Luther King Day. To read more about this important day, check out my Martin Luther King Jr Impact Today post. In honor of this important day and the impact it has had on civil rights; it is important we don’t ignore the significance of this day and the positive role it has had on businesses and the country.

Another way to celebrate this day is do nothing, listen to nothing or watch nothing at all. Or, if you’re feeling frisky, whisper “Sweet Nothings” to that special someone in your life.

What will you be doing for National Nothing Day?

As always, I welcome your comments.

Happy National Nothing Day!
