Sweet dreams tonight and every night. Lingerie is having a big influence on fashion presently. Chiffon, satin and lace along with show some skin trends are all over the fashion runways.
Sweet Dreams Tonight
Recently seen on the runway were lingerie inspired slip dresses, baby doll mini dresses, nightshirts, rompers and lace T-shirts with built-in molded bra cups. So, these styles go beyond the bedroom and are right on trend. Since, I own several mesh sheer tops and wear novelty bra’s underneath to give it a sexy look and pair it with a short skirt for a night of dinner and dancing. Indeed, many Women own several camisoles and tanks. Mixing lace or sheer camisoles or tops and pairing it with a blazer has you going from business to after 5 in style.
Trends that I’m seeing in a lot of Fashion Magazines and reports are:
- Floral – I wrote a post on the romantic English rose. See that for some ideas.
- Colors – I did a post about Pantone Colors of 2016. The softer colors translate well into lingerie inspired styles.
- Embroidery – There is a lot of styles showing up in the Fashion Industry. An embroidered bra is an option to wear under a mesh bodysuit.
- Neutrals – I did a post on New Bohemian styles. Colors showing up translate well to lingerie styles.
- Sheer – A bodysuit or t-shirt and wearing an embroidered bra works well for underneath.
- Tulle – A skirt or underpinning.
- Lace – Adding a lace t-shirt, bra or camisole is an option.
- Silk – There is something luxurious about wearing silk next to the body. Certainly this will inspire sweet dreams tonight.
Good Night
With silk chemises and pajama dressing being taken to another level I am seeing sleepwear as daywear in several magazines. Pajama’s have had a big influence for the last couple of seasons in the ready to wear fashion industry. I own several pair of pajama style pants and dress it up with a fun shirt and heels. It is a look that is comfortable yet spot on in trend. Of course, with all the Chemises and Nightie style dresses being featured this season, we will all be sleeping in our clothes this year.

On the whole, a little romance can go a long way. Some styles to consider adding to your wardrobe are:
- Lace Shoes – There are several styles and options in footwear. I own a pair of black lace pumps and these are timeless. They never go out of style.
- Tank top – There are several lightweight styles available. These are perfect to wear for casual wear and after 5.
- Crop pants – I saw a style recently in Banana Republic that is perfect to consider adding to your wardrobe.
- Bodysuit – There are many options available. From lace, mesh, sheer and spandex – many choices to select from.
- Jewelry – Something that shimmers brings out the sparkle in someone’s eyes.
