Regrettably, the Boston Bruins season ended with a disappointing loss on Sunday. Although the season ended with a loss, this team looks poised to be a better team next season.

Boston Bruins

Although there was a lot of hope that this years team could go the distance; they didn’t play well during the last week of the regular season. And, no doubt that carried over to the playoffs. Be sure to check out the Red Hot Boston Bruins post to read more the team that back in February seemed like they could go the distance. But, injuries played a factor.

Indeed, every loss hurts a team. However, after this years team breakout season, many thought this team had a shot to win the Stanley Cup.

Boston Bruins Disappointing Loss

No doubt, the disappointing loss for the Bruins team was hard for the players. In the first place, one of the biggest disappointments in this series against the Tampa Bay Lightening was their ability to generate offense when it was a five and five situation. Meanwhile, in the last three games the Bruins weren’t able to score a goal in a five and five situation.

In addition, there were a lot of questions on poor officiating. Also, other than the Bruins top line, there was a poor showing in this match-up. But, a loss is a loss. Ultimately, the number one seed, the Tampa Bay Lightening was the better team.

Boston Bruins Going Forward

Now that the season is over, the Bruins have to figure out how they weren’t able to play as well in the post season as they did in the regular season. Consequently, all the trades made at the deadline most likely won’t be back next year. However, some sports analysts think that Don Sweeney may hang onto Tommy Wingels. With some weaknesses seen in the Bruins defense, the team may be shopping for youth.

Moreover, with  Tukka Rask being owed seven million dollars per year and three years remaining; will the Bruins try to trade him to another club? Because my Husband is a season ticket holder, he feels the team should try to trade Rask and get some good young players. What free agents will the Bruins sign?

As always, I welcome your comments.
