Boston Bruins Playoff

While this years Boston Bruins team had their ups and downs, it was nice to see them in the playoffs. Since they had difficulty with the Senators in the regular season, the playoffs unfortunately ended with their elimination.

With my husband being a season ticket holder, I follow the sport a little bit. As a Pink Hat, I admit to not knowing a lot about the game of hockey as I usually only follow it during the playoffs.

Because the season ended with the Bruins being eliminated, there were many positives taken from this series. As a result of the playoffs, the Bruins had some good play from some of the up and coming younger players. Also, one of the downfalls in this series was some of the veteran players didn’t have their A-game.

In addition, many of the games went into overtime with the Bruins losing by a goal. Furthermore, the Bruins strength during the regular season in killing power plays was absent in the playoffs. Although the Bruins had more playoff experience, their playing short-handed to many minutes ended up being their Achilles heel.

Also, one of the positives for the team moving forward, is defense man, Charlie McAvoy. Because McAvoy emerged as a quality defender, fans can expect to see some better defense going forward.

Of course, the Bruins didn’t get the results they hoped for, yet they gained experience that will take them into next season.

Conclusion

To sum up, this year’s Boston Bruins team had their highs and lows. Most noteworthy, was a change of coaches during the season as well as some key injuries.

Will the Bruins get better from their playoff experience? As always, I look forward to your comments on the Boston Bruins playoff elimination loss. Do you think the team will be a serious contender next year? What changes, do you think the Bruins need to make?
