Creative nail design has reached new levels in nail art over the last several years.  Manicures and pedicures have been through several transformations in the last few years.

Several years ago, often requested colors were ballet slipper pink, bright reds, and neutral colors.  The excitement in creative nail art has changed.    Trends in brighter neon nail polish colors, designer nail polishes, crackle nail polish, glitter polish, gemstones, and nail art are being seen everywhere.

In the same fashion, many women choose to express their creativity with fun nail art, symbols, and metallic polishes.   Nails polish and nail art have become much more popular.  Moreover, Women are using nail polish, nail art, symbols, nail jewelry to express their individuality, creativity, and sense of humor.

Years ago, nail art was usually seen when traveling to the various Caribbean island.  In addition, nail art was often airbrushed and usually, you needed longer nails or nail extensions to have any type of art painted.  Today – nail art is big business.  We are seeing various artists, musicians, fashionista’s featuring creative nail designs everywhere.  Of course, I am a big fan of nail art.  I have torn out pages in magazines of my favorite pedicures and manicures and have used these pictures as inspiration for my own nails.   A favorite nail design of mine is the sneaker.   Sneakers are a popular footwear choice and what better than having the design shown on your nails.

For me, I like to have fun nail art featured on all 10 nails.  Also, I clip pictures from magazines, read Nail It magazine, and follow many nail art designs on Instagram.   Since I am an avid sports fan, I like to have the New England Patriots artwork on my nails during football season.  Now that baseball season is here, Red Sox nail design can be often seen on my fingernails.

Design Options

Some creative nail designs to consider are:

  • Burberry
  • Nautical
  • Floral (roses, sunflowers, poppies)
  • Holiday
  • Sports related (basketball, baseball, hockey, football, soccer)
  • Hearts and Love inspired quotes (Valentine’s Day)
  • Holidays (Christmas, Chanukah, Halloween, St. Patrick’s Day, Thanksgiving)
  • Patriotic Holidays (Veteran’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day)
  • Animals (dogs, cats, bears, pigs)
  • Words (I’ve had my Husband’s name painted on my big toe)
  • Scenery – this requires someone with a steady hand and a lot of patience.
  • Tropical Designs (rainbows, palm trees, ocean)
  • Summer themes (beach, flip flop, sand art)

My favorite nail design that I did prior to a Vacation is a kaleidoscope of colors with an outline in black.  To summarize, the key is to find a lot of different colors and someone with a lot of patience to paint your nails.

Finding a talented Technician is key to keeping your nails healthy and painted beautifully.  Furthermore, nail art is a talent.  Do you like having manicures? Pedicures?  Nail Art?  In conclusion, I look forward to you sharing some of your favorite creative nail designs with me.
