Every Vote Counts November 8, 2016

Every vote counts November 8, 2016 as we elect a new President of the United States.  Since it is time to vote again, it is easy to come up with excuses not to go to the Polls.  Many people in America think their vote doesn’t count.

Every Vote Counts

Why does every vote count?  Because in a close election, your vote matters.  So if you don’t vote, you cannot complain.  You may be only one person, but so isn’t everyone else who votes.  We all know the media has been casting predictions.  But we all know how the media is – they get it wrong sometimes.

Since your vote is your voice.  Stand up and be heard.  If a state swings one way or another, your vote can be the deciding factor in a candidate winning or losing your state.

Important Issues

While early voting started on October 24th, many individuals may have already went out to vote.  Since there are many important issues behind each candidate and questions to vote on, head to the polls today.

Questions

Additionally, 4 important questions appear on the Massachusetts Ballot.  Due to important questions on the ballot, it is important to cast your vote.

  1. Question one allows the Gaming Commission to issue an additional slot license.  A YES vote gives the State Gaming Commission to license one additional slot machine at a location that meets conditions specified in the law.  A NO vote makes no changes in the current Gaming Laws.
  2. Question two would allow the Board of Education to approve up to 12 new Charter Schools and enrollment expansion in existing Charter Schools.  A YES vote would allow this to occur, but not to exceed the 1% of the Statewide Public School enrollment.  A NO vote would allow no changes to the current law relative to Charter Schools.
  3. Question three would prohibit any Farm Owner/Operator to confine any Breeding Pig, Calf raised for veal or Egg Laying Hen that prevents the animal from lying down, standing up or turning around freely.  While a YES vote would prohibit this from occurring, a NO vote would make no changes in the laws pertaining to Farm Animals.
  4. Question 4 is about the legalization, regulation and taxation of Marijuana.  A YES vote would allow anyone over 21 and older to use, possess and transfer products containing Marijuana in limited amounts.  It would also provide for the regulation and taxation of commercial sale of Marijuana products.  A NO vote maintains no change in the laws relative to Marijuana.

Conclusion

In conclusion, every vote counts.  Even if you do not know the answers, vote.  Voting is every American’s right.  Every vote counts so get out and Vote today if you haven’t already.
