In Dhaka, Bangladesh, in 2013, a garment factory collapsed, which resulted in over 1300 deaths of men, women, and children.
Also, the collapse of the factory resulted in many injuries, and over 800 children were orphaned.
Meanwhile, this collapse has remained as one of the worst disasters in fashion history and industrial design.
However, over the years, the fashion industry has not been scrutinized.
Although there have been reports of millions of workers exploited throughout history and poor working conditions, this day wasn’t recognized until April 24, 2014. Since that time, people throughout the globe have joined forces to help reform practices and sustainability.
Over 100 countries are involved to help create a more sustainable future.
Because it is Earth Month, it is important to promote this fashion holiday.
How to Contribute to Fashion Revolution Day
Of course, some of the best ways to contribute to this are to support petitions and ask clothing brands to improve their environmental and ethical standards.
