Gerry Turner gave his final rose on the Golden Bachelor. So, from the time this show was announced; it has had people of all ages talking about it.
Gerry Turner Gave his Final Rose
When this season started, there were 22 women introduced. Since Gerry was the first Golden Bachelor, no one knew what to expect. However, Gerry has won over people of all ages.
Gerry is a retired restaurateur. Also, he is widowed. To learn more about his season; check out my Gerry Turner – The Golden Bachelor Spoilers post.
Since he didn’t know what to expect as the lead; he kept an open mind.
Gerry Turner Gave his Final Rose – Leslie and Theresa
After he met his final three woman’s families; he eliminated Faith Hill.
- Leslie Fhima – She is 64 years old and has been a personal trainer for over two decades. In addition, she was a former professional skater. She also started a company for Dogs called Powerdogs. Since she has run 10 marathons in her life; she is hoping Gerry will be her running partner for life. Also, both Leslie’s ex-husband and son were in the food industry.
- Theresa Nist – She is 70 years old and is retired. Theresa has several children and grandchildren. In fact, during the family visit; Gerry met Theresa’s daughter and grandchildren.
Fantasy Suites
First, was his date with Leslie. They repelled down a cliff to see a waterfall. At the same time, Gerry tells Leslie he wants to be with her. He told her that he received advice from Trista Sutter. Trista to;ld him to find the woman you can’t live without. And, he proceeds to tell Leslie he thinks she is the one. But…
Next, he heads to his one-on-one with Theresa. Although he was distracted during their horseback riding date; he said to the camera; he has the ideal woman in Theresa, yet he keeps wondering what Leslie is doing.
During their evening dinner date, Gerry has an eye-opening conversation with Theresa. Theresa tells him about her career and lets him know that she gave up on love after her husband’s death. However, she agrees to go on the show and tells Gerry she never found anyone and believes that is because she was meant to find him.
After their conversation, all of Gerry’s concerns disappeared. Also, Theresa told the camera if Gerry asked her to marry him; she would say “yes”.
After his overnight with Theresa; Gerry tells the camera he feels this is the first day of the rest of his life.
Live Finale
When the show begins, Jesse Palmer welcomes Bachelor Nation.
Next, the show begins with Gerry’s daughters and granddaughters arriving in Costa Rica to meet with Leslie and Theresa.
First, they meet with Theresa and his daughters and granddaughters seem to see how perfect they would be.
After they met with Theresa; his daughters let Gerry know they could see him with Theresa. They could see the similarities and were impressed.
And, then it goes to his final date with Theresa. They talk about their feelings and he promises Theresa he won’t choose her unless he is 1000% sure.
Next, Leslie meets his daughters and granddaughters. Although both his daughters and granddaughter seemed to like Leslie; there seemed to be a few reservations. For instance, if their dad proposed; would she say yes? When Gerry walked Leslie out; she could sense that something didn’t feel right.
So, on their last date before the final rose; Leslie expresses her love to Gerry and gives him a book of their dates.
When they say goodbye to one another; Leslie asks Gerry if there is something he wants to say to her. He doesn’t say anything, but a few minutes after he leaves he then proceeds to knock on her door. He tells her when you asked me if there is something I want to say; he lets her know that he is sorry but he has fallen in love with Theresa.
When Leslie comes out to meet with Jesse and Gerry; he tells Leslie he is sorry. He felt this was a tough journey for him and he never wanted to hurt anyone.
Gerry Turner Final Rose
So, before the final rose, Gerry teased something happened that has never happened before in the Finale. In addition, he said he has worn a perpetual smile on his face and is very happy with his decision.
Now, that Gerry sent Leslie home; there is only Theresa.
When Theresa arrives, she tells him how much she loves him. Next, he lets her know how he feels.
And, he gets down on one knee and proposes. Of course, Theresa says “Yes”. After he proposed his daughters and granddaughters joined them.
Jesse welcomes the couple on stage. They share their happiness.
So, everyone is wondering what is the big surprise.
Drumroll!
Jesse surprised them with a trip to go to Italy. Gerry says that is perfect for their honeymoon. They are getting married on January 4, 2024, which will be live on ABC for the first Golden Wedding.
After the Final Rose
