Intermittent Healthy Fasting Diet

Of course, many individuals begin the new year with the hope of losing weight or beginning an exercise program. But, many fall off of their goals shortly after the year starts. However, this diet will have you on the road to achieving the best results without gaining the weight back.

When I was in New York in the Fall, I learned about the benefits of this diet from one of my best friends, Cheryl. She gave me pertinent information that helped me begin.

In my opinion, the best way to begin this weight loss plan is to start slow. For instance, try to stop eating at a specific time each day and don’t eat again for the next 12 hours. At the same time, by doing this; you’re giving your body the opportunity to release fat it stores into energy. Moreover, this releases ketones into your bloodstream which ultimately helps you shed weight.

When you begin this diet, it is important to stick to the same time each day. So, if you eat until 6:00 p.m., do not eat anything before 6:00 a.m. in the morning. By sticking to a routine; you’re giving your body the opportunity to get used to consuming less food.

However, if you don’t see any results from the 12 hour period; I recommend fasting for 16 hours. Since I work from home; I’m easily able to fast for 16 hours a day. With eight hours a day to eat, I usually eat much healthier.

Another way to achieve results is to alternate between trying the above diet 5 days a week and eating healthier foods the other two days. Usually, when someone follows these rules, they will see a weight loss. Be sure to check out my Heart Healthy Eating Goals post where you will find tips to help you make healthier food choices.

In summary, reward yourself one day a week by not following the fasting rules. Meanwhile, it is important to also exercise as well.

As always, I welcome your comments on the intermittent healthy fasting diet.
