In 1892, there was an Ad for the week in Ithaca, New York; however it spelled out the ice cream treat as Sunday. But in Twin Rivers, Wisconsin claims that Edward Berners served the first ice cream sundae in 1881. Though there were ordinances in place that prohibited the sale of ice cream soda; so, Berners came up with a compromise to serve this in a dish minus the soda.
Whether it was in 1881 or 1892 this was invented; the good thing is now this is a popular choice for many to order every time they are at an ice cream parlor.

Whether you are out with your family or friends; there are many places that have ice cream smorgasbords. In fact, there is a place not too far from where I live that I absolutely love going to. However, the problem is I make a mess and always ask for a bigger cup as I pile my ice cream with lots of toppings.
And, I will be taking the day off from my diet on July 25th to make my own sundae.
