National Ice Cream Month

National Ice Cream Month

So, July is National Ice Cream Month. But, did you know the third Sunday of July is National Ice Cream Day. When Ronald Reagan was President, he recognized the love of ice cream. Back in 1984, he made this a fun month to have fun with ice cream in the United States.

National Ice Cream Month

So, now you know how July was named National Ice Cream month. With this in mind, the International Ice Cream Association promotes that retailers and consumers celebrate the month. In addition, many ice cream shops have special events going on the entire month.

National Ice Cream Day

With the third Sunday of the month declared on this day, there are a lot of promotions and events going on throughout the USA. For ice cream lovers everywhere, treat yourself today to a yummy ice cream dessert.

At the same time, you can celebrate the day at home with ice cream and toppings. Also, you can treat yourself to the following ice cream treats.

  • Ice Cream Float
  • Sundaes
  • Milk Shake
  • Banana Split
  • Root Beer Float
  • Ice Cream cone
  • Ice Cream cake or pie
  • Chocolate covered ice cream bar
  • Candy ice cream bars, i.e., snickers, milky way, and dove bars

For me, I love, making my own ice cream or yogurt sundae. Of course, I’m like a kid in a candy store. I enjoy mixing ice cream with peanut butter sauce, a teaspoon of hot fudge, and topping with marshmallows. In addition, I usually add a heath bar crunch to top it off.

Ice Cream Celebration

Cool down and celebrate. From ice cream cones and bowls, there are plenty of ways and places to celebrate. Because ice cream is a favorite treat for so many individuals, many local supermarkets and ice cream parlors are offering specials. Moreover, many popular ice cream franchises are sending out specials.

Recently, I received a “Buy one, get one free” from Cold Stone Creamery.  Find your favorite ice cream today at a supermarket or better, yet treat yourself to your favorite ice cream place.

As always, I look forward to your comments on your favorite ice cream treats.

Happy National Ice Cream Day!
