National Splurge Day June 18th

National Splurge Day June 18th

In my opinion, National Splurge Day is a day to get excited about. First and foremost, why not treat yourself to something you really want?

National Splurge Day

So, today is a day to splurge on something you desire. Or, perhaps you’re on a diet and crave a decadent dessert. Although you may feel guilty about overeating or overspending today,

In the first place, this fun faux holiday was created by Adrienne Sioux Coopersmith. Consequently, today is a day to do things on a whim. Most of all, use the day to get creative.

Budget Splurges

At the same time, it is important to not go off the deep end in your spending today. Of course, no one wants to feel guilty about over spending. So, are you ready to splurge within your budget? First, if you’re planning to go out shopping, June is a great month to find a lot of markdowns on summer merchandise. Be sure to visit my Month by Month Shopping Guide post for some deals available this month.

Indeed, there are things you can splurge on without actually spending a lot of money. For instance, you can treat yourself to something you enjoy such as painting, exercising or pampering yourself by taking a leisurely bubble bath. For some other pampering ideas at home, be sure to read my Spa Experience at Home post.

And, if money isn’t a concern, you can get creative. When it comes to fashion and beauty, treat yourself to a beauty make-over. Or, a new hairstyle, a spa day or a day at your favorite store.

Because you’re worth it, treat yourself to fresh flowers. Certainly, there is nothing like a pretty floral assortment to brighten your day. Not only do flowers smell good, but they add color to your home.  Nevertheless, spend some money on your home. Whether it is splurging on new bedding, towels, furniture or accessories, there are some things that are worth spending money on.

Ideas on Ways to Splurge Today

If you’re looking for something creative to do today, try a new experience. In fact, there is nothing like splurging on an experience. For example, you can try something adventurous such as an extreme sport. And, if you’re not the adventurous type, plan a vacation, spa day or head to your favorite restaurant and treat yourself or a guest to lunch or dinner.

Because I love to travel, I’m going to use the day to book another vacation.

As always, I welcome your comments on what you will splurge on.
