New England Patriots Host Jaguars

New England Patriots Host Jaguars

So tomorrow the New England Patriots host the Jacksonville Jaguars. Since the Patriots are the number one seed; they will host the AFC Championship game.

New England Patriots

With the win over the Tennessee Titans; this will be the seventh consecutive AFC Championship Game that the Patriots will be in. At home, the Patriots are 5 – 1 at Gillette Stadium. In the AFC Championship Games; the Patriots are overall 9 – 4.

In fact, Tom Brady has been 2 – 0 against the Jaguars in the playoffs. Moreover, Coach Bill Belichick is 7 – 2 all time against the Jaguars in the playoffs.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Although Jacksonville is one of the teams that Brady has an undefeated regular season; anything can happen in a one game playoff. Above all, the Jaguars have the NFL’s number 2 ranked scoring defense. However, I saw them play in both the Wildcard Game and last weeks game and am surprised they have made it this far.

For the Jaguars, this is their third time in an AFC Championship Game. Moreover, the Jaguars have never been in the Super Bowl. So if they win; this will be their first trip to the Super Bowl.

Patriots Host Jaguars

In 1997, the Patriots played the Jaguars in the AFC title game and won with a score of 20 -6. Since many expected the AFC Championship Game to be between the Patriots and the Steelers; the Jaguars surprised everyone by winning the game. In addition, Pittsburgh was able to generate a lot of points against a top rated defense. So, the Patriots are going to have to be patient and figure out how to stop the Jaguars.

Due to watching all of the games during the Wildcard and Divisional Series; I am surprised that the Jaguars beat the Steelers. Not only did they win; but they did it during the regular season as well. But, the Jaguars are surprising many. Their record during the regular season was 10 – 6. However, they have the fifth most points in the NFL.

Who Will Win

When the Patriots host the Jaguars this Sunday; we can expect to see a good game. Although the Patriots are considered the heavy favorite; anything can happen in a one game playoff. Also, Tom Coughlin has the Patriots number. Remember the two Super Bowls between the Patriots and the Giants.

So, with Brady’s hand being a question mark; will he be up to par? In fact, I’m on the fence on this game and have a fun bet with my Hubby. Because of Tom Coughlin’s history with the Patriots; I think the Patriots could lose at home.

To sum up, you can catch this game on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at 3:05 p.m.

Will you be watching the game? Since I will be in Sedona; I will have to find a place to catch the game.

As always, I welcome your comments.
