October is the Best Month for Sports

In the first place, sports fans can find a game to watch almost any time of the day. From collegiate football, MLB Playoffs, NBA, and NHL, to the FIFA World Cup; there are plenty of games to see.

October – Baseball

When the baseball season began earlier in 2022; I was excited for the season to start.

Because I have been following the Red Sox since the time I was 6 years old; I continue to enjoy rooting for my team year after year. However, this year’s team didn’t excite me.

Early on, I thought to myself, this team didn’t mesh well and lacked excitement. Check out my The 2022 Red Sox Team has no Identity post to read more about this year’s team.

Though the Red Sox ended up in last place before; I still watched a lot of the games. But, this year; I didn’t watch the majority of the games. Every time I watched a game, I ended up turning it off early more times than not. Hence, this team reminded me of watching my nephew play High School baseball.

The playoffs begin on October 7th.

Of course, one of the most popular sports in October is the World Series. And, this year, the World Series will begin on October 28th – the best of seven.

Will you be watching?

NBA Basketball

Since I live in the Boston area; I have been a Celtics fan since I was a kid.

After last year’s exciting playoff run; the Celtics have been heavily favored to win it all in 2022-2023. However, a lot has changed in the last month. The Boston Celtics Coach, Ime Udoka has been suspended for the entire season.

With Udoka’s suspension, there has been a lot of unease among the players and fans. In the meantime, Joe Mazzulla has been named the interim coach.

Since training camp just started; will the team come together and be the last team standing?

Of course, time will tell!

NFL Football

When the season began, there was a lot of speculation on teams who looked poised to be one of the last teams standing. Check out my 2022 NFL Season Begins post to read more about which teams could be in the Super Bowl.

However, in the last 4 weeks, there have already been a lot of injuries. In addition, many Rookie Quarterbacks are now starting. And, several teams have already been on the hunt for a Quarterback based on injuries.

NHL Hockey

With pregames already underway; the NHL regular season starts on Friday, October 7th.

As part of the NHL Global Series; the NHL brought many of the games to Europe before the season begins in North America.

The Colorado Avalance won the Stanley Cup last year, and they are favorites to win the trophy again this year.

However, there is still a long way to go.

So, the regular season ends on Thursday, April 7th; and, then the playoffs begin.

Who will win the Stanley Cup?

FIFA World Cup Qatar

Of course, there is always speculation on which team may win the World Cup. And, this year is no different.

So, the 2022 FIFA World Cup will begin in Qatar on November 20th and end on December 18th.

At the same time, everyone wants to beat France. So, there are 32 teams to compete in 8 different groups.

Both Croatia and Spain seem to have great teams. Spain only has one player remaining from their 2010 team; however, they have a lot of young talent So experience and youth will come together when Spain kicks off.

Which country will win the FIFA World Cup Qatar?

So, get ready to count down the days until the start of this exciting global event.
