Organizing Your Home Spring

Organizing your home takes time. Although you may not like cleaning, you will be happy once you’re finished. So, are you ready to get your hands dirty?

Organizing Your Home

When it comes to your home, spring cleaning will help keep you organized. Because many of us tend to have things lying around; it is important to put your things away. If you’re still unsure what to do with something, perhaps you should toss it. Since Spring is a season of rebirth, it is time to get organized.

First and foremost, spend some time dusting. Don’t forget to get behind a piece of furniture, your light fixtures and windowsill. Now is also the time to clean your mattress. Wash your mattress cover. Also, wash any bed pillows. When the season’s change, I switch up my bedding ensemble.

Now is a good time to clean your oven and dishwasher. Since many appliances come with self-cleaning functions, it is important to do this at least a few times a year. Also, don’t forget your microwave oven. Take out any parts and scrub vigorously. Moreover, don’t forget your refrigerator. How many of us keep products past the expiration date? Or, have shelves that food has dripped onto. Make sure you get rid of any bacteria.

If you have carpet in your home, use a vacuum cleaner. If you have tile or hardwood floors, give your floors a good wash. In addition, many of us forget to replace our vent filters. Because these ducts blow dust throughout our home; it is important to replace your vents regularly.

Organizing Your Home – Linen Closet

Now is a good time to streamline your linen closet. Since most of us keep our sheets and towels in the linen closet, go through your closet. Furthermore, get rid of any old sheets and towels that you don’t need. A great tip for keeping your sheets organized is to tuck your full and flat sheet and extra pillowcase into a pillowcase. Of course, this keeps your sheet sets together and provides more room in your linen closet.
