Stripes – Fashion Staple all year around. Everyone can wear – Women and Men. Striped fashions are a classic and don’t defy time. Each season we see all kinds of striped fashion styles on the runway.
Every Designer interprets this differently. For 2016 we will see Designers using red, white, and blue not only in traditional nautical fashion styles but also to make a bold statement.
Stripes are a staple in Men’s and Women’s fashions and can always be found in a suit. Both a thin pinstripe or a wider stripe look classic. Someone wearing a pinstripe suit shows a sign of power. Stripes are found on many versions of shirting. The one featured below can be found on Amazon. I loved the look of a wider stripe in a sheer fabric giving this a lot of appeal. This can be paired with a white skirt, pants, jeans, or capris. Shown below is with a bandeau top. If you don’t want to show skin, try a nude tank or camisole. There are so many options with this shirt and it is in several colors.
For men, a striped button-down shirt looks classic with a solid suit. Stripes are a staple for everyone and have a purpose in fashion. There are so many options. My Husband often wears striped button-down shirts, both classic and he wears striped t-shirt styles with a pair of jeans. I own many striped t-shirts and usually pair them with a denim skirt or a fun patterned skirt giving it an edgy look. See my print post for more suggestions.
I love wearing a maxi stripe skirt with a solid knit shirt with a pair of spectator pumps. One I found similar to one in my closet below.
Stripes – Fashion Staple
This is popping up everywhere. Stripes will be one of the trendiest looks for Spring and Summer 2016 fashions. Designers use this design in dresses, skirts, shirts, and slacks. They are even showing up in accessories in scarves, shoes, and handbags. Kate Spade has a great mixed media satchel handbag I’ve seen photographed in several magazines.
Stripes can flatter your figure. In fact, a Petite Woman looks good in vertical stripes and elongates her figure. Horizontal stripes are considered flattering for thinner framed women. Diagonal is flattering on all figures. It is especially flattering on a plus size, curvy, and boyish type figures. Wear stripes of every different styles and design and have fun with this look. In essence, the key to wearing stripes is to select a color pattern and build around it.
Since this is a staple in fashion – have fun this spring and summer and add not only some classics styles, but consider upping your wardrobe with some novelty styles. Accordingly, will you be wearing stripes – fashion staple styles?
