Swimsuit Season

Summer heat and swimsuit season is upon us.  So, no reason to make shopping for the perfect swimsuit scary.  Fashion Designers have wised up and realized there are all different sizes and shapes.  Time to start shopping for the best shape for your body frame.

Eliminate Muffin tops

When looking to camouflage your tummy or hide any bulge, some styles to consider are:

  • High Waist two piece bikini that hits above the navel.
  • One piece swimsuit that has gatherings over areas you would like to down play.
  • Swimsuit with a ruched bottom or a one piece ruched style.
  • Textured fabrics in swimsuits.
  • Tankinis – A lot of styles to choose from.
  • Folded over waistbands in bikini bottoms.

In addition, avoid tight fitted swimsuits, string bikini’s and low rise swimsuits.

Bathing Suits for Larger Chests

For larger breasted Women, some styles to consider that are figure flattering are:

  • Underwire swimsuit.
  • Wide or adjustable straps in bikini top or a one piece style.
  • High necklines.
  • Full coverage swimsuits with armholes covered.
  • Halter swimsuits with wide bands beneath the breasts.
  • A two piece bikini with good support on the top.
  • Structured cups in bikini or one piece.

Also, avoid any skimpy styles that lack structure and tiny bikini tops.

Minimize Butt and Thighs

If you are looking to minimize your derriere or thigh area,  look for styles that have:

  • Eye Catching details.
  • Plunging necklines.
  • Ruffled details.
  • A Pop of color.
  • An Arch leg that hits above the hip bone.

Also, avoid boy short style bikinis and any cut-out bathing suits.

Swimsuits for a Straight Figure

If you have a straight shape, some styles to consider are a style that can make a slimmer body look curvier.  Look for styles that have:

  • Bold Prints.
  • Ruffles, rings, shirring, or padding can have you looking curvaceous.
  • Embellished bottoms that create a waistline.

In addition, avoid any styles with square necklines, straight lines, vertical stripes, solids, and anything lacking texture.

Let’s make swimsuit season less scary.  Also, some other things to consider is adding an accessory such as a sarong or beach caftan.  In addition, a fake tan gives you sun-kissed skin and has you look slimmer.

Remember most of us aren’t a size 0 or 2.  The average Women’s size is between a 12 – 14.  Remember not to stress out the next time your on the beach or by a pool.  Look around you.  In conclusion, women aren’t all built like supermodels.  Also, a little confidence is the best accessory you can wear for the swimsuit season.
