International Bikini day is today. Surprisingly, this day coincides when a lot of people are either at the beach or on vacation. So, are you ready to put on a two piece swimsuit?
International Bikini Day
In the first place, this day started 73 years ago. When Louis Reard debuted his Women’s swimsuits’ at a pool party on July 5, 1946, this created quite a bit of shock for the models. However, one exotic dancer let Reard dress her in a string bikini.
In addition to Reard, Designer, Jacques Heim also introduced his version of a two-piece swimsuit style the same year. Consequently, Heim’s version didn’t take off as quickly as Reard’s style. And, Reard patented his design and from there; this swimsuit continues to be worn all over the globe.
Although many people banned this style of swimsuit in the earlier years; this trend has created all types of styles. From thong styles to monokinis; we have seen all types of barely there swimsuits.
Moreover, for thousands of years, bikini-like styles were used in Greek and Roman artwork.
