In March, the entire month is observed to celebrate plaids. Additionally, some of the plaid-like patterns came from Central and Western Europe in the 6th and 8th centuries B.C.
Although many of the patterns were originally known as Tartans; they have since evolved. In the same fashion, there have been movies and musical groups that have had plaids featured as a staple. For instance, the movie “Clueless” used yellow plaid throughout the movie. And, many musicians such as Nirvana made plaid one of their signature fashion looks.
