July is National Grilling Month – Check out my Special Recipes

July is National Grilling Month! So, are you ready to fire up your grill? Moreover, it’s time to get your family and friends together. Celebrate the season with some new recipes!

July is National Grilling Month

In the Summer months, backyard barbecues, fire pits on the beach and hibachi’s at many campgrounds are a few things in abundance during the Summer months. Therefore, I have some tips for making barbecuing healthier.

  • Fish is a healthy option and to make it flavorful; I recommend pouring some lemon or using a fresh squeezed lemon, olive oil, a little black pepper and a pinch of sea salt for moist and tasty fish.
  • Another healthy choice is chicken. Hence, you can make a lot of different chicken recipes. Try marinating your chicken before tossing it on the grill. So, a few ways to make your chicken flavorful is to marinate your chicken in a buffalo sauce, Italian marinade or you can add some barbecue sauce and toss it in between a bun for a tasty sandwich.
  • Make a vegetable antipasto. To create a delicious dish, you can use mushrooms, peppers, squash and zucchini. Grill! Toss with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and sprinkle some ground black pepper. Voila – the perfect veggie antipasto or side dish.

Meanwhile, this barbecue accessory set is ideal for anyone who doesn’t have the proper tools. In fact, this set includes everything you will need to to make barbecuing easier. And, the set even comes with a cleaning wire; but you can easily throw the tools in the dishwasher.

July is National Grilling Month – Grilled Caesar Salad Recipe

In my opinion, there is nothing better than a Caesar Salad.

For a fresh spin on a typical Caesar Salad; start with a head of romaine lettuce. You can either cut the lettuce in half or quarters. Before you toss on the grill, coat your lettuce with a light coat of olive oil.

While your lettuce is on the grill; prepare your dressing.

To make, you need 1 egg yolk, lemon juice, olive oil, anchovies, Dijon mustard, minced garlic and parmesan cheese. Toss all ingredients in a bowl until your dressing becomes thick and once your lettuce has been seared; toss it in a plate and pour the Caesar dressing. Perfecto!

Pasta Lovers – Try Something New

Since most of us love pasta; why not try something new?

In the first place, all you need is a small skillet that you can easily put on the grill.

In my opinion, for this to come out right; you will need penne or raviolis. Toss your favorite pasta in the skillet with some olive oil, spices and vegetables for approximately 6 – 8 minutes. Add a little water in the skillet so the pasta doesn’t get sticky and grill until your pasta is tender.

Grilled Desserts

Finally, when you are looking for a sweet ending to your barbecue; why not end your meal with making S’mores? Be sure to check out my Celebrate National S’mores Day post for some ideas on these tasty treats. And, be on the lookout for my post next month on these tasty treats.

Also, you can easily grill some pound cake and make a fruit sandwich. Top off your fruit sandwich with some fresh whipped cream, drizzle a little syrup,  caramel sauce, or honey for a sweet ending to your Summertime barbecue.

As always, I welcome your comments on your favorite recipes.

Happy National Grilling Month!
