When Barbie was introduced at the American International Toy Fair in New York in 1959; this doll became an instant success. Meanwhile, this continues to be popular among people of all ages.

At the same time, every year this iconic doll has a birthday. And, it is celebrated on March 9th along with her friends.

Indeed, she has dabbled in many different careers and has been a role model for plenty of young girls.

Barbie and Ken – Ken

Due to the high demand for this doll, Ruth Handler introduced a boyfriend.

Since Ken has become iconic, he now has his own day dedicated to him which is March 13th.

In 1961, Ken was introduced to the world as the official boyfriend of Barbie. Additionally, he is available as a blonde or brunette.

Of course, it was love at first sight! However, Mattel had them break up in 2004, but, they reconnected in 2011 and have been together ever since.

Since Barbie’s inception, a lot has changed. Over the last 2 decades; there have been a lot of changes in the anatomy of the doll. In fact, there have been many different size dolls, with different features, and nationalities added.

Although the dolls have changed in appearance; these dolls continue to be popular. Also, many families have passed these on to their kids and grandkids.

In celebration of Barbie and Ken’s birthdays; there are many things you can do.
