When you’re outside, your body and skin are impacted. Indeed, you sweat more. The key is to eat healthier and stay nourished. By having a healthy diet, you will lose weight. Also, by eating healthy, it can prevent certain medical conditions.

Because last month was National Fruit and Vegetable month, it is important to continue to add some of your favorite fruit and vegetables to your diet. Not only will your body look better, but you will feel better. So, instead of sitting by the stove, there are many delicious food options available that require no cooking.

Healthy Summertime Food to Add to Your Diet

Since there are so many Farmer’s Markets around, you can find lots of fresh produce. Whether you live in the city or suburbs, a Farmer’s Market is not too far away.

In the first place, choose a food product that consists of whole grains. By eating food high in fiber, you will feel full quicker. Next time you’re reaching for a roll, try to substitute it for a whole wheat, rye or pumpernickel roll or slice of bread.

Because so many people eat a donut in the morning, why not try an English Muffin instead.  At the same time, I love pasta. I have been substituting spaghetti with Weight Watchers Fettuccine.  Another option is to try a whole wheat pasta. Also, spinach pasta is another option.

When you crave pasta, try a Spiralizer. With the vegetable spiral maker below, you won’t get bored. You will be able to create all kinds of veggie pastas. For me, this is one of the best spiral makers on the market. It is easy to use and comes with several recipes.

Since many of us take out our grills this time of year. Now is the perfect time to grill vegetables, potatoes, meats and chicken. It is important to wash and trim fat before grilling any meat or fish.

Try and eat fish at least twice a week. A simple recipe I have enjoyed making is grilling scallops. I use a grill pan and add a tablespoon of olive oil and sea salt and ground black pepper and grill for approximately 10 – 12 minutes. Make sure you rotate your scallops as they’re cooking. You can finish this off by adding fresh lemon to squeeze. In addition, I make either a carrot or pea puree as a side dish.

Stay Hydrated

Of course, it is important to stay hydrated. When you’re outdoors in the heat, it is important to replenish lost fluids. My drink of choice is water. If you’re not a water drinker, try a low-calorie sports drink or juice.

Remember to stay away from high sugar beverages as they’re adding calories to your diet intake.

Conclusion

In particular, eating healthy is important. Remember small changes to your daily diet will benefit your health, skin and body.

As always, I welcome your comments.
