Boston Bruins Second Round Playoff Review

The Boston Bruins second round begins tonight. So, after defeating the Toronto Maple Leafs for the second straight year; the Bruins will host the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Boston Bruins Second Round Playoff Review

First and foremost, the Bruins will have their hands full with the Blue Jackets. Surprisingly, the Blue Jackets swept the number one seed, the Tampa Bay Lightening. To read more about the road leading up to the playoffs, be sure to check out my Boston Bruins Clinch Playoff Spot 2019 post.

For any hockey fan, the first round provided many well played games. In the first series, the team’s best players rose to the occasion. Moreover, Brad Marchand, David Pastrnak and Patrice Bergeron combined for nine goals and 20 points in the first round.

Now that the team has advanced to the second round; they are going to face a highly motivated Blue Jackets team. Because the Blue Jackets had a week of rest; will that help them? Or, will the Bruins coming off a 5 -1 victory in Game 7, have the offense and defense to advance?

Boston Bruins Second Round Schedule

The schedule for the second round is as follows:

    1. So, tonight begins the series – Game 1 in Boston at 7:oo p.m., April 25th.
    2. Game 2 will be in Boston on Saturday, April 27th TBD.
    3. Monday, April 29th – Game 3 will be in Columbus if the Washington Capitals advance; and if the Carolina Hurricane advances, the game will be played on Tuesday, April 30th.
    4. Game 4 will be in Columbus on Thursday, May 2nd.
    5. For Game 5, they play in Boston if needed on Saturday, May 4th.
    6. If needed, Game 6 will return to Columbus on Monday, May 6th.
    7. Finally, if this series goes the full distance, Game 7 will be in Boston on Wednesday, May 8th.

Because the Tampa Bay Lightening was eliminated, the Bruins have home play advantage throughout the remainder of the playoffs. In the regular season, the Bruins won the season series against the Blue Jackets.

Since my Hubby is a season ticket holder; we’re all fired up for the playoffs.

In summary, which team will control the puck?

As always, I welcome your comments.
