Boston Celtics Eastern Conference Loss

Boston Celtics Eastern Conference Loss

So, the Boston Celtics season came to an end in the Eastern Conference playoffs. After winning 10 straight playoff games; would they continue their dominance with home court advantage? Sadly, LeBron James playoff dominance ended their season.

Celtic v Cavaliers – Eastern Conference

Although the Celtics suffered the loss of Gordon Hayward and Kyrie Irving; many didn’t expect the Celtics to get very far in the playoffs. Since the Celtics were the underdogs in the second round of the playoffs; many sports analysts predicted the 76er’s to win. And, of course, they predicted the Cavaliers to win in 5 or 6 games in the Eastern Conference. No one expected the series to go the distance.

So the Celtics started the first quarter of the game looking like they were out to conquer the Cavaliers. In the first quarter, the Celtics looked good. However in the second quarter, the Celtics were missing a lot of baskets. For most of the game, the score remained close between the two teams.

First and foremost, Jayson Tatum had 24 points and 7 rebounds. But, the rest of the offense wasn’t up to snuff. For instance, Terry Rozier shot ten 3 pointers and missed all of them. Al Hortford had 17 points, but only 4 rebounds. Additionally, Jaylen Brown wasn’t at his best. Also, Marcus Smart missed all of his 3 point shots.

In fact, the Celtics lack of offense, as well as their defense lead to their loss. No doubt, LeBron James 35 points, 15 rebounds and nine assists while playing the entire minutes of the game sealed the deal for the Cavaliers defeat in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Boston Celtics Future

Now that the Celtics season has come to an end; it is time to look toward the future. With two of the Celtics best players out for the playoffs; this young Celtics team have a lot of reasons to be proud. In fact, Jayson Tatum showed a lot of poise throughout the playoffs. No doubt, Tatum has “Basketball Star” written all over him.

In summary, I’m sure the Celtics young players are looking forward to returning to play next season. Next season should provide plenty of excitement for Boston fans as Hayward and Irving return. This team has a lot to look forward to as they made it far without two of their best players. Of course, Boston fans will have a lot to be excited about with everyone healthy next season. No doubt, the rest of the NBA should be worried.

Will Danny Ainge make any changes in the off-season?

As always, I welcome your comment.
