Bruins won Presidents Trophy with their 58th win on Thursday night. In fact, their win gave them Home field ice advantage throughout the playoffs.

Although they won the trophy in the 2019-2020 and 2013-2014 seasons; this year’s team seems to be different.
Indeed, they have been impressive from the beginning of the season.
So, no matter how the next two weeks go; the team will finish with the best records in the NHL.
At the same time, even though the Bruins won Presidents Trophy; many teams that have won this haven’t made it to the Stanley Cup Finals. However, if you look at the total of No. 1 seeds who have won the Stanley Cup; more often than not; the teams that had the best record have won the cup.
Bruins Won Presidents Trophy – Boston Bruins Home Record
In the first place, the team’s home record has been astonishing. When you look at their record at home; they are 31-4-3 at the TD Garden this season so far.
When the season started, Ceasars Sportsbooks had them at 25 – 1 to win the Stanley Cup.
At the same time, the team’s first year Coach, Jim Montgomery believes the team’s record at home will play a big factor in how far they go in the playoffs. He believes due to their home record; many teams won’t look forward to facing them at the TD Garden.
In addition to having the best record; they are on pace to win more games before the season ends. Also, the team was the fastest in the team’s history to reach 100 points.
Of course, if they continue to rack up points; it would put them on pace to tie the record held by Montreal in 1976-77. Moreover, Montreal beat the Bruins that year to win the Stanley Cup. So, will the Bruins be the last team standing?
Since this year’s team seems poised to go far; it is no surprise they have given up the fewest goals. In addition, to giving up the fewest goals; they have also scored the 3rd most goals in the NHL.
Who Will the Bruins Face in the First Round
Since the regular season doesn’t end until April 13th; it hasn’t been determined who they will play in the first round.
Indeed, their impressive record will have them as easy favorites to win the first round.
So, in the first round, the team could either face the Buffalo Sabres, New York Islanders, Ottawa Senators, Pittsburgh Penguins, or Florida Panthers.
Because there is still a number of teams that can make it; time will tell who the Bruins will face in the first round.
When the season comes to an end on April 13th, we will soon find out who they will face in the first round.
Will the Bruins Win the Stanley Cup
Of course, it is hard to predict how far this year’s team will go. However, based on their impressive home record; it is probable that this is their year.
So, with their strong offense and defense; the Boston Bruins appear to be the favorite to win the Stanley Cup.
Indeed, this has been a special season. With 5 regular season games remaining; it is possible the team breaks more records.
Due to the team’s consistency all year and that they continue to exceed everyone’s expectations; will the Bruins skate to the top?
