Celebrate Giving Tuesday November 27th

Celebrate Giving Tuesday! When this first started six years ago, the Belfer Center’s message was to give back on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Not only is this day important locally, but throughout the globe.

Celebrate Giving Tuesday

Respectively, this day was started by The Belfer Center for Innovation & Social Impact. First and foremost, this organization is about wanting people, communities and organizations to come together and give back.Whether you’re donating time in a soup kitchen, volunteering at a hospital, donating services or monies to help others; you’re doing something good.

Not only is this day about giving back, but also it is important to do whatever you can regularly for your community and others who are less fortunate.

Since the year is coming to a close, any monetary amount, tangible or intangible goods you donate are a tax write-off.

Ways to Celebrate Giving Tuesday

Of course, there are so many ways you can get involved. Ultimately, there are a number of things you can do. And, some people may not have money to donate. However, there are a number of ways you can give back. Are you looking for ways to give?

  • First, you can volunteer your time to either a charitable organization, food bank, hospital or school.
  • Second, you can support an event by volunteering by handing out information.
  • Third, you can donate appliances, books, clothes, furniture, toys and other items you are no longer using. For example, a computer, printer or automobile.
  • Fourth, offer your skills.

If you have the means to give financially, you should do so. Also, many companies offer ways to donate a percentage of your paycheck to non-profit charities.

How I will Celebrate Giving Tuesday

When I think about this day, I want to do my part as a freelance writer and blogger to support the various programs and companies I am linked to. When you have the opportunity, please visit We W.I.L.L. Thru Sports to learn about their non-profit program for youth. So, please do what you can to help them get youth involved in their sports programs. To read more, please visit my Donate We W.I.L.L. Thru Sports post.

Because I have lost so many family members to cancer, I’m asking for consideration in making a small donation to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund page.

DONATE NOW

Let’s Celebrate Giving Tuesday by doing what we can to make a difference.

As always, I welcome your comments.
