Cervical Cancer Awareness Month

Cervical Cancer Awareness month is in January.  It is important that Women are aware of protecting themselves from HPV human papillomavirus and cervical cancer.

HPV is known as a common infection.  This spreads through sexual relations. Furthermore, millions of individuals have HPV.  HPV is also a cause of cervical cancer.

The good news is both these diseases we can put an end by:

  1. HPV vaccine shot
  2. Pap smear

By regular screening both medical conditions, we can defend against.  It is important that Women take steps to stay healthy.  In the first place, a few things everyone should know:

  1. Have a yearly Gynecological Exam
  2. Health Care reform laws cover visits for all Women.
  3. Parents should speak to their Teenage Children about an HPV vaccine shot.

In addition, this cancer was once one of the leading and most common causes of death for many Women.  Although over the last thirty years the death rate has decreased by 50%.  Thanks to improved screening and vaccinations available, this cancer is highly preventable.  By proper screening tests, cancer can be detected early.  If any changes in the cervix are found, treatment can be given. Additionally, this can help before it develops into cancer.

The American Social Health Association and the National Cervical Cancer Coalition have named January Cervical Awareness month.  This month was set up to help Women get proper information. Regardless, let’s do our part to erase cancer.

The American Cancer Society is fighting different cancers on many fronts.  The various Groups set up help Women get the treatment they require.  The American Cancer Society funds new research to help prevent, fight, and find cancer.

It is important that every Woman get the proper care.  Furthermore lets help prevent any type of cancer from developing.  Also, it is important for every woman to:

  1. See a Doctor regularly.
  2. Pay attention to any changes in your body.
  3. Educate yourself on the different cancers and treatments available.

Help Prevent Cervical Cancer

As a Woman, it is imperative to stay on top of your health.  In essence; you should be your own Advocate.  Of course, you should, support cancer charities. In addition, encourage all Women you know to get a proper screening.

In conclusion, what will you be doing in January to erase HPV and Cervical Cancer?  To summarize let’s halt all cancer.  By proper screening, we can help prevent cervical cancer.
