Choose plant base diet for good health. When I recently went through pre-surgical testing, I met with a Physician who shared an article he wrote, “Diet is the Foundation to Good Health”. When you think about good health, you think about a thinner body physiques.

Choose Plant Base Diet

Since I joined Weight Watchers, I’ve been losing weight each week. Due to always having high cholesterol, I was very interested in learning more about a plant base diet. Because I’m pro-active with diet, I decided to incorporate this into my everyday lifestyle.

By eating meat and chicken regularly, animal protein raises cholesterol levels. Because heart disease runs in my family history, I have refined my daily eating habits.

Do you have to give up Meat/Chicken

If you choose plant base diet, you don’t necessarily have to give up meat and chicken altogether. By choosing a diet with fruit, vegetables, fish and a modest amount of lean meat, you will reap the health benefits.

Since I believe in the saying, “Everything in moderation”, that goes hand in hand with this diet.

What to eat on a Plant Base Diet

If you want to get started on a plant base diet, start by incorporating more fruits and vegetables. Also, if you’re trying to lose weight, cut back on over consuming. So, with Weight Watchers, fruit and vegetables have no points. With this in mind, there are a lot of recipes you can try.

In the first place, I love almost all vegetables. Since I started this new diet, I’ve been feeling much more energetic. Not only am I still eating some meat and protein, but I’m focused overall on new vegetarian recipes. If you make vegetables and fruit the overall leader in your diet, you can lengthen your life span.

For me, the best vegetables dishes have color and flavor. Some of my favorite foods to make are:

  • Penne (lentil, whole wheat) with cherry tomatoes, roasted peppers, sun-dried tomatoes, pine nuts and a homemade balsamic glaze is tasty. Also, you can easily make more and refrigerate. Eat it the next day as a cold salad or reheat.
  • White bean soup
  • Kale soup
  • Kale Caesar salad
  • Caesar salad
  • Spinach salad
  • Arugula salad
  • Eggplant Parmesan – Perfect for meatless Monday. Eggplant is one of my favorite dishes. In addition, I make a light base homemade tomato sauce and bread the eggplant in a mixture of panko and plain bread crumbs. Saute for a few minutes on each side. Pan with sauce and add a light mozzarella cheese or ricotta cheese.
  • Goat cheese sandwich – since there are so many different flavors of goat cheese, you can pair with mushrooms, spinach, or figs for a tasty sandwich. Also, you can grill the sandwich to make it gooey.

Conclusion

Because there are many reasons to choose a plant base diet, the most important reason is to ward off disease and keep you looking and feeling good. By switching to a higher intake of fruit and vegetables, you’re lowering your chance of cardiovascular disease.

In conclusion, by incorporating plant base food into your diet, you will be consuming fewer calories. Of course, you will see a weight loss.
