Sadly, this is a disease with no cure. For those of you wanting to do something, you can take place in a walk near you.
When a loved one has this disease, the best way to help the person, is to try some of the following tips.
- First, make sure you speak in an even tone and calm voice.
- Second, you should use simple and short sentences.
- If the person you love seems upset, back away. Moreover, it is important to give the person some space to calm down.
- In addition, it is important to plan simple things such as taking them on a walk or making something to eat and joining your loved one.
- Finally, treat them like an adult. Show them love. Be attentive.
If a loved one gets angry, try to distract them with something that may make them smile, such as music, or showing them something. Because many living with Alzheimer’s disease can be dangerous, it is important to keep sharp or dangerous objects away from them.
