When visiting New York recently, my Husband and I attended the Christmas Spectacular 2016 Rockettes Show at Radio City. Certainly for me and many others, the Radio City Christmas Spectacular is a holiday tradition.
Rockettes
Although the Radio City Rockettes are famous for representing the magic of the holiday season, the show prepares you for Winter festivities. Of course, the Rockettes are known for their precise movement and high kick choreography. The Rockettes dance style includes:
- Ballet
- Jazz
- Modern
- Tap
The original Rockettes dance troupe began in 1925. Also they were known as the “Missouri Rockets.” Since 1932, they have performed at Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan, New York.
In fact, each year 400-500 Women audition. Auditions are held April in New York City. With this in mind, you must be familiar with many different styles of dance. The Rockettes perform 5 shows a day 7 days a week during the Christmas season.
Christmas Spectacular 2016
When I was a little girl I attended the first show with my family. Today’s show has changed. Moreover 3D glasses, floating snowflakes and sophisticated technology deliver a modern vibe. The story centers around two young brothers looking to buy a gift for their sister. Ben and Patrick meet Santa Claus. Furthermore throughout their journey they visit the North Pole.
Additionally, the stage lighting and sound lead to a truly Christmas Spectacular 2016 show. In addition, the 2016 show features bright lights, music, comedy and impressive costumes. Glitter and joy make this a wonderful show.
Here comes Santa is a delight to the audience. Over 50 Santa’s create the illusion in endless Santa’s. Also the Rag dolls create fun and spirit in their performance. Let it snow with floating snowflakes over the audience transports you to a Winter Wonderland.
