Cuisine Confessions Show Boston

Cuisine Confessions Show Boston

Last week, my husband and I attended Cuisine & Confessions Show in Boston.  The show was the first one of the 2016/2017 Arts Emerson season.  Due to my love of food, I was looking forward to the show.

The combination of food, comedy, acrobats, and confessions come together. Of course, the stage was set up as a kitchen.

From the minute we arrived, the actors were already on stage and interacting with the audience.  I went to the stage to introduce myself and ask if I could take some photos. The actors were extremely accommodating by inviting me up to the stage.  As a matter of fact, the actors wanted to provide an espresso.

Food and ingredients were plentiful throughout the performance. By and large, the joy of cooking was embedded in the audience.  Smells, tastes, and childhood memories were brought to the surface. Additionally, we learnt about the acrobats’ relation to food.  What are some of your favorite food memories?  Is there a particular dish that brings you back to your childhood?  Hence – food that defines you?  Your life?

Acrobats

Amazing acrobatics are seen throughout the performance.  Consequently, the audience saw:

  • Silk Sling Acrobatic moves.
  • Contortionists.
  • Skilled choreography.
  • Nostalgic storytelling.
  • Energetic performance.
  • Heartfelt sentiment.
  • Audience interaction.

Kitchen

Life happens in the kitchen.  In fact, I remember growing up, sitting at the kitchen table, and sharing my day with my family.  In addition, I remember nights helping my Mother prepare her chocolate chip Mandel bread.  The show encompasses eye-popping acrobatics and pulsating music blending the perfect story.  Storytelling through the food had us all hungry.

  • Hands in the batter.
  • Tantalizing smell
  • Food roasting
  • Food baking

In essence, the show led us through a span of time and different countries with the kitchen being the meeting point.

Review

I thoroughly enjoyed this 90-minute show.  The show kept me entertained.    Blending food, family, childhood memories kept me entranced.  Of course, the show was the perfect blend of ingredients.   Also, a standing ovation was at the end of the performance.  At the end of the performance, the audience was treated to pasta and banana bread.  In addition, recipes were in the program for Banana Bread, Vegetable Pasta, and Tomato and Basil Omelette.

In conclusion, I recommend attending Cuisine, Confession show Boston.  Have you attended the show?  Liked the show?  Disliked?  Did you try the Banana Bread?  Pasta?  Of course, food is inspirational.  Since this performance has a correlation between food, confessions, and life, it ends leaving you with the taste of food.
