Lionel Richie and Mariah Carey Concert

So a few days ago, my Husband and I attended the Lionel Richie and Mariah Carey Concert. Because Lionel Richie had knee surgery, this concert was rescheduled from the original Spring date.

Because I’m a fan of pop music, I was excited to see both performers. So, the concert began on time. The concert opened with Tauren Wells. Since I wasn’t familiar with his music, I was excited to see his performance.

After seeing Tauren Wells performance, I will definitely be listening to him regularly. His hit single “Hills and Valleys” has a nice beat. In addition, his performance resonates with a lot of people as his music opens with spiritual victories and prayers.

Mariah Carey

Although my Hubby isn’t a fan of Mariah Carey, I convinced him that we have to go see them in concert. Since he likes Lionel Richie,  he was on-board.

After the opening performance, Mariah took the stage approximately 30 minutes later. Because I like Mariah Carey’s music, I was excited to see her on stage. She performed her pop hits. However, her first few songs were drowned out by her band. In addition, Mariah didn’t show a lot of movement.

Meanwhile, her performance lasted approximately 45 minutes and she had one costume change. Also, I didn’t understand why she brought her twins on stage.

Lionel Richie

Finally, Lionel Richie came out on stage approximately 45 minutes after Mariah Carey. Even with the delay, he came out performing all of his hits.

All I can say is “Wow” – Lionel puts on a great show. His interaction with the audience as he gets everyone to sing and dance was part of the concert. Above all, I liked learning more about Richie’s music career and didn’t realize all the songs he wrote for many performers.

One of the things I liked about Lionel Richie is you can see him on the big screen behind the stage. Because my Hubby and I were seated in the lodge area, I appreciated seeing this as Mariah Carey didn’t have this as part of her performance.

Above all, Lionel Richie is the ultimate performer. You can tell he enjoys singing and his personality shines throughout his performance. His performance of “All Night Long” was his final song and that resonated with me as he performed over 90 minutes without a break.

To sum up, it was a fun night for me and my Hubby. If you have the opportunity to see this concert, definitely go.
