59th Grammy Music Fashion Collide

59th Grammy Music Fashion Collide

Last night was the 59th Grammy awards. Because there are so many awards, there are two separate ceremonies. In the first place, the majority of awards are given at the pre-telecast ceremony at Microsoft Theater. In the same fashion, the live show from the Staples Center has live performances and a handful of major awards given out.

59th Grammy

Many performers will be on stage to sing and collaborate with other artists. The 59th Grammy show is hosted by James Corden of The Late Late Show. James is known for his charm and warmth. Furthermore, his love of music should provide good entertainment.

Of course, my love of fashion had me tuned in early to E – Live Red Carpet.

Fashion

As much as we will see incredible performances, we will also see some unique fashions. Prior award shows still have us remembering the speeches, performances and fashion styles. Who will win best song? Best performer? Male Artist? Female Artist? Best dress? Worst dress?

Best Dress List

With this in mind, the following are a few styles that made my best dress list. Many embraced Pantone 2017 Spring/Summer colors. First, some of my favorite looks that stood out to me are below. Kelsea Ballerini’s romantic embroidered dress with blue flowers has me ready for warmer weather.

Also, Jennifer Lopez and Camila Cabello both stood out to me in their beautiful pastel gowns.

In the same fashion, red stood out to me. Both Carrie Underwood and Faith Hill had on similar styles in red dresses seen below.

Red fashions continued to slay on the red carpet as seen below.

Since the number one color of the year in fashion is greenery, this color was embraced by several performers. Adele wore the Givenchy gown below. Although, I thought Adele’s beauty and make-up shined, this dress for me was a definite miss. I was not a fan of this dress.

Also, Tori Kelly was seen in the ruffle off the shoulder dress below. While many had her on the best dress list, I was on the fence on this look. For me, this dress looked like something you would find at a local shop. Your thoughts – hit or miss?

In addition, I thought there were a lot of great stand-out dresses that are shown below. Demi Lovato’s backless gold sleek cutout dress was striking.

Heidi Klum was on many best dress lists in the simple mini t-shirt dress below. Also, her hair and make-up were stunning.

Julia Carey with her husband/host James Corden also rocked the pink metallic dress seen below.

Best Dressed – Males

Since one of the stand out colors in men’s fashions is copper, Ryan Seacreast rocked this style.

Additionally, the following are some of my favorite styles of the night.

Nick Jonas wore a great Balmain jacket as seen below and rocked in his “Men in Black” ensemble.

Best Dressed – Couples

John Legend and Chrissy Tiegen are on fire with their style below.

Worst Fashions

By the same token, there always seems to be weird fashions at the Grammy’s. With this in mind, Joy Villa wore a dress with President Trump’s campaign slogan down the front.

Also, Cee Lo Green wore gold head to toe ensemble resembling the gold Grammy statue. While this look turned heads, I didn’t get it.

Girl Crush’s look resembled a kaleidoscope of balloons.

Katy Perry’s look didn’t do it for me. For me, this style was bizarre with the mix of metallic and tassels. Hence, she made my worst dress of the evening.

Hit or Miss

Nudity and modesty continue to mix. Paris Jackson had on the cutout Balmain dress below which I found stunning, yet edgy at the same time.

Additionally, Tinashe had on a black cut out Alexander Wang dress that hit a high note.

Although part of Jason Derulo’s style was classic and cool, he needed to lose the shades.

After Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl performance, many looked forward to seeing what she would wear to the 59th Grammy. Her fishnet’s, midriff baring crop top, leather and high platform boots is a look we have seen from her before. Leave it to Gaga to have us saying, “ha, ha”.

In conclusion, the majority of styles for me weren’t memorable. To sum up, I’m looking forward to the Oscars at the end of the month.
