Encore Boston Review June 2019

So, Encore Boston is officially open. Because the Wynn and Encore hotel are my go-to places whenever I’m in Las Vegas; I was excited to have this property in my backyard.

Encore Boston

When you arrive, the hotel looks exactly like the one in Las Vegas. So, the official grand opening was Sunday, June 23, 2019. With the opening on Sunday, the hotel is hoping to avoid people travelling to and from work during a regular week day.

Since my husband and I both have the Red Card; we were invited to a private event last week. Our tickets let us bring two other people.

So, off we went for a night to preview this property. At the event, we were treated to a complimentary dinner of our choice at any restaurant, as well as we received two tickets for complimentary beverages. Because my husband and I had familiarity with many of the restaurants; the first one we chose was closed for a private party.

In addition, we also found several restaurants were no longer accepting any more guests for the evening. Therefore, we decided to try their buffet. Since I’m not a fan of buffet’s, I wasn’t excited. However, I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised. Consequently, this buffet serves you as you go through the line. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our food and would definitely go back again.

When we first entered the hotel, the atrium features a botanical flower carousel.

Moreover, there has been a lot of chatter about Popeye that was made by Jeff Koons. If you cannot take your eyes off of this statue; it can be yours for a cool $28 million. No doubt, this statue would be a great conversation piece.

Throughout the hotel, you will see their signature red chadeliers hanging. Also, the casino feels much more spacious than their Las Vegas property. At the casino, you will find all kinds of slot machines and table games. And if that isn’t enough for you; they even sell scratch cards.

Of course, this property is much smaller than their Vegas location. Although it still has the same feel as their Vegas location; the one prominent difference I saw when I attended the private party was the crowd wasn’t dressed well which caught us all by surprise.

Another difference early on is the price to stay overnight. In essence, their price is about 80% higher than their Vegas properties; but I assume that will change in time. If you’re planning to stay overnight, make sure you check out my Vacation Packing Essentials post.

As always, I welcome your comments on if you will be checking out the new Encore Boston.
