2021 Boston Red Sox Season Predictions – How will the Team Perform

2021 Boston Red Sox open their season today. After finishing in last place in the regular season in 2020; it will be interesting to see how this team performs with Alex Cora back at the helm.

2021 Boston Red Sox

Indeed, a year ago, many people didn’t even know if baseball would be played due to the worldwide pandemic.

However, a year has gone by and everything is starting on time.

On opening day, 12% of fans will be allowed to be in attendance. Consequently, this will be approximately 4,500 fans. Of course, this could change depending on the number of COVID-19 cases as well as more people receive the vaccine.

2020 Trades and Terminating Alex Cora

In 2020, there were a lot of changes with the organization. For instance, the team parted ways with Alex Cora after a cheating scandal broke and Mookie Betts and David Price were traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Red Sox Team Predictions

Though Spring Training just ended and today is Game 1 of 162 games; I’m excited about this year’s team.

With the start of a new season; there is a lot to look forward to. In the first place, Alex Cora was rehired as the Manager and there are many new players.

After the dismal year of 2020, the team looks to be better with their starting pitchers. Consequently, last year, neither Chris Sale nor Eduardo Rodriguez pitched a single game.

Now a year later, and Rodriguez was slated to be the opening day starter. However, he has a dead arm; so Nathan Eovaldi will replace him.

At the same time, many sports analysts have the team poised to win 79 games. However, that can change. Due to injuries, team chemistry, and trades; anything can happen.

As of now, the Toronto Blue Jays are the favorite to win the division as well as be in the World Series. Do you believe the hype on the Jays?

How will the Tampa Bay Rays rebound after being the World Series loser?

And, will the stacked New York Yankees be a contender?

Though many fans have low hopes for the 2021 Boston Red Sox; they may surprise people and sneak into the playoffs this year. With some key offensive powerhouse players, a new bullpen, and Alex Cora – the sweet spot; I wouldn’t count this team out.
