2022 is the Year to Travel the World

2022 is the Year to Travel the World

2022 is the year to travel the world! In January, Expedia called 2022 the year of the GOAT a.k.a. the greatest of all trips. So, if you are wondering why; it is because, over the last couple of years, there has been less travel for pleasure due to the pandemic. Due to restrictions easing; it’s time to open up to the possibilities of visiting other countries and islands.

2022 is the Year to Travel

Though I said last year, it was time to put travel back on your list; how many people ventured out of their area? For some tips on where to go; check out my Are you Ready to put Travel on your List this Year post. Since many people chose to stay close to home; over the last few years, it’s time to loosen up.

Since I was a little girl; I always enjoyed going on trips with my family. Whether we vacationed in Cape Cod or went on an airplane to see a new place; I have always enjoyed going somewhere new.

Over the last three decades; I have had the opportunity to visit many different countries, islands, and states. However, I have to admit COVID-19 put a halt to many of my vacations. In fact, my husband and I canceled 6 vacations to Aruba, Orlando, and Portugal in the last 2 years. But, this year seems to be different.

2022 is the Year to Travel – Sandals

At the end of 2021, we booked a trip to a new location at Sandals. Though I have never been a fan of all-inclusive destinations; I have to admit I was blown away by my experience at the Sandals Barbados property. Check out my Sandals Barbados Vacation 2019 post to read about my experience.

When Sandals sent my husband and I information on one of their newest properties; I was gung ho.

Every time we have vacationed in Aruba; I always wanted to hop on a plane to visit Curacao. Due to a busy schedule when we were in Aruba; we never visited this island. Now, we will finally get to visit Sandals Curacao.

This property will open their doors in June 2022; and, we will have the opportunity to not only experience the luxuries Sandals provides, but also have time for romance and to take part in many off property excursions.

2022 is the Year to Travel – St Lucia

Of course, every year I’m always looking for the best places to travel to. When I was doing research online; I contacted Jet Blue Vacations to speak to them about a few destinations. Due to a few cancelations from 2020 and 2021; we had a credit we needed to use this year.

After speaking to a fantastic representative; he gave me a few suggestions and minutes later; our first trip of 2022 was booked. This Summer, we will have the opportunity to visit an island we have never been to.

We are headed to St Lucia and are staying at a 5-star luxury property with a private plunge pool in a King size suite.

Are you Looking for Some Inexpensive Places to Travel to

So, if you love to travel but are on a budget; don’t fret!

Of course, there are many places to visit that won’t cost an arm and a leg.

In fact, one of the most inexpensive places to travel to is Mexico. You may want to visit Cancun, or Mexico City.

If you are looking to kick up your boots; you may want to consider visiting Nashville, Tennessee. Because I had the opportunity to vacation there several years ago; I highly recommend it.

In Nashville, you can find plenty of places that have live music all day without a cover charge. Also, there are many great restaurants to go to that are really affordable.

In the United States, there are many other places you can visit that are affordable in the Summertime. For instance, you can visit New York, Las Vegas or Dallas. Although these places can be expensive; you can also find some cheap places to stay at.

So, with 2 trips already planned; I’m on the lookout for a holiday getaway. But, nothing definitive yet.

As always, I welcome your comments on where you plan to travel this year?
