Friendsgiving Holiday is a great way to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday with your close friends. Since many of us don’t have family close by or no longer alive; this is the perfect time to gather your friends and invite anyone who is close by.

Friendsgiving Holiday

So, the idea of this holiday is to gather any of your friends who don’t have plans for the holiday. Because so many of us don’t have anywhere to be on the holiday; this gives us the opportunity to spend time with our friends. As I always say, you don’t get to pick your family, but can pick your friends. And, how many of our friends are closer to us than our family?

No doubt, this is a great way to celebrate the traditions of Thanksgiving with close friends.

Indeed, the real part of this holiday is about friendship. Be sure to check-out my Friendship Makes Life Sparkle post to read more about special friendships.

Are you planning to celebrate Thanksgiving with your friends? Of course, the key to hosting is to have plenty of good food and drinks. In my opinion, the best way to host this is for you to cook the entrée and a few side dishes. And, have your friends bring something to add to the meal.

Whether you’re planning to have a few friends or a big group; the best way to host this is to have your meal prepared ahead of time, so you can spend more time in the company of your friends. For an easy but flavorful entrée, check-out this turkey with cranberry recipe. Not only is this turkey dinner delicious, but it is easy to prepare in a slow cooker.

When you’re setting the table, make it simple. You can even use disposable dishes and cutlery. In my opinion, the elegant design on the disposable plates is perfect for any holiday. Not only are these disposable, but they can be reused.

Add some festive napkins and a tablecloth and your table will be ready for a lively get together.

After dinner has been served, plan some fun games. For instance, you can ask everyone “What they are thankful for” and for every answer, everyone has to take a sip of a drink. Also, charades is another great idea to get the crowd laughing.

Although Friendsgiving is usually hosted the week or day of Thanksgiving, many opt to share this event the weekend before or after Thanksgiving. Will you be hosting or going to any Friendsgiving celebrations?

As always, I welcome your comments.

Happy Friendsgiving and Happy Thanksgiving!
