Friendship Makes Life Sparkle

Friendship Makes Life Sparkle

Friendship makes life sparkle. Whenever you think of friendship from your childhood, you’re reminded of your youth. Remember the simple days of play time with one another.

Friendship – Childhood

When I was growing up, I became close friends with Denise Franklin. In our youth, we used to play together with our Barbie and Dawn dolls. Denise was a close friend and someone I enjoyed spending time with. When Denise moved to another part of the city, our friendship stayed intact.

As Denise and I graduated high school, our lives took a different direction. Denise found the love of her life and married at a young age. On the other hand, I was married to my education and career. Although our lives drifted apart for many years, we were lucky to reconnect several years ago.

Today, Denise remains one of my best friends as she has been there for me through some of my darkest days.

At the same time, someone who I consider a brother is my childhood friend, Jeff Yenof. Since our parents were close friends, our relationship is a true test of time. Although, Jeff and I have lost touch several times over our lifetime, we always seem to pick back up as if no time has passed.

Friendship – College

When I attended college, I met my best friend, Rosemary Dean. In fact, our friendship began over a heavy book in an Accounting class. Moreover, we have a lot in common and came from a similar type of family backgrounds. As our relationship developed, we both learnt we have a love of fashion and of course, boys.

Although we have gone through peaks and valleys since we have known one another, our friendship has remained true. Additionally, she has remained a rock in my life during ups and downs.

Rose and I are soul sisters. When my Sister died, I thought of how fragile life is and made a will. Of course, Rose is my Personal Representative to carry on my wishes.

Friendship – Adult

In the first place, life sometimes takes us on a different road. At the same time, you develop new relationships. For me, one of my best friends I met when I began my career in Women’s Wholesale Apparel. When I married, Cheryl Huang was part of my bridal party.

Although we may be apart in distance, we’re never too far away for a phone call.

Of course, one of my other best friends is my Husband, Joe. Joe has seen me through my ups and downs and has always been my rock. I couldn’t ask for a better life partner than my Hubby.

Also, another close friend of mine is Sharon Itzkowitz. We met approximately 20 years ago and our friendship has remained intact.

Friendship Makes Life Sparkle

Indeed, a true friend keeps you cool in the Summer and warm in the Winter. Although life has changed, it is important to make time for your friends. When you’re having a bad day, you don’t want to be around a lot of people, just your close friends. They say you’re rich in friendship if you count five real friends. I’m lucky that I’m rich in friendship as my five true friends are my squad.

Make time for your friends. By the same token, it is important to set quality time for your friends on a regular basis. Although, you may like social media, remember it cannot replace real-time with your friends. So, if you’re too busy, make time. You will be happy you did.

Friendship Makes Life Sparkle

To sum up, I always say you cannot pick your family, but you can pick your friends. As always, I look forward to your comments.
