National Ride the Wind Day - August 23rd

National Ride the Wind Day – August 23rd

National Ride the Wind Day is today! So, are you ready to embark on an adventure? In 1977, the MacCready Gossamer Condor flew the first human-powered flight.

National Ride the Wind Day

The Gossamer Condor was built by Dr. Paul MacCready. At the same time, this flight was piloted by amateur cyclists and hand glider pilot, Bryan Allen.

In addition to the Gossamer Condor, Dr. Paul MacCready and his team invented several other solar aircraft.

>How to Celebrate Ride the Wind Day

In the first place, though this day is about the hand glider; you can use this fun day to take to the air. For instance, you can climb to the top of a mountain, get on an airplane or helicopter, or make your own airplane.

Since cooler air is around the corner; flying a kite is a good way to celebrate this day.

Now, you can find this hand glider at the Smithsonian Institute.

Hand Gliders

When you think about hand gliders; there are many highs to this activity. Whether you are a beginner and just trying it out for the first time, or you enjoy racing; there is a lot to think about.

In fact, the most important thing to know is to find a place nearby that offers instructions.

So, if you are ready to learn to fly; visit this link to learn where you can take lessons. Also, as a beginner, the key is to relax and listen to the instructor. Indeed, a good instructor will work with their students to see what they are comfortable with.

However, if you have already taken lessons and have been flying hand gliders; the key is to focus on what is in front of you.

Meanwhile, the key to being able to hand glide is to look before you leap.

Keep calm!

Flying Mirrors Life

Whether you are a beginner and just trying out flying for the first time or an experienced flyer; the key is not to let any type of distractions get in the way. If you are not focused on what you are doing; mistakes can easily happen. Of course, this mirrors real life.

At the same time, when you are not focused on what you are doing; it is easy to have an accident.

Stay focused!

Ask yourself what your goals are. Are you looking in front of you? Don’t let a distraction or something interfere with your ability to do things right.

In fact, I have been in a position where I find my mind wandering.

Hence, it is important to stay focused. So, next time you are trying something new; hit pause before jumping into something new. Instead, it is important to focus and listen to the sounds around you.

Moreover, if you can limit your distractions; you will be on your way to focusing on things directly in front of you. Of course, we all make mistakes. Knowing when to accept the good and bad, and move forward will result in you being able to achieve whatever you set out to do.
