So this past weekend, my Husband and I went to see Sal Valentinetti perform at the Cabot Theater in Beverly. When my hubby and I recently celebrated our Wedding Anniversary at Chianti restaurant; we saw a flyer for this show.

Dining

Since I love Italian food, my hubby and I started out at Chianti once again. We started off with “yummy” appetizers. For my entrée, I had pumpkin ravioli’s which comes with a Gorgonzola sauce, pears and carmelized walnuts. I ended up with leftovers that I cannot wait to finish off over the weekend. Of course, my hubby likes any type of food dish that has fish and he ended up ordering the Frutti Di Mare. All of this talk of food is probably making you hungry.

After dinner, we walked across the street to see the concert at the Cabot Theater. In the first place, the Cabot Theater is a local theater that began in the 1920’s. Since its inception, the theater has gone through various name and ownership changes.

So when the theater went up for sale again, the theater was purchased in 2014 by Henry Bertolon. Shortly after Bertolon took ownership, a board of directors was formed and the theater went through extensive renovations. Now, the theater is known for music, movies and events. In my opinion, this intimate small theater has a lot to offer.

Opening Act

Because I go to Chianti often; I was excited to see the Owner, Richard Marino and his band, the Rule of 3 perform. In fact, this band was a great opening act for Sal Valentinetti. This band performed music from the 60’s to the 80’s.

And, this band didn’t disappoint. They had the audience involved in their performance from the minute they entered the stage. There was catcalls and the audience sang along to all the songs.

Ultimately, the Rule of 3 was a great opening act and I hope to see them perform again.

Sal Valentinetti

Because my Hubby watches America’s Got Talent, he was familiar with Sal Valentinetti. As the voice from America’s Got Talent, Sal is an Italian-American crooner known for his vocals.

Not only is Sal’s vocals flawless in his rendition of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin; but he is engaging with his stories of his childhood. Of course, his stories are funny and had me laughing throughout the night. No doubt, Sal has a big personality and his love of music and entertaining his audience came cross throughout his performance.

If you have the chance to see Sal Valentinetti perform; I highly recommend going as you won’t be disappointed.

As always, I welcome your comments.
